Our Commitment to Sustainability

We are committed to Growtech having a positive impact on people and planet. We want to play a key role in helping the agriculture industry improve its own sustainability by connecting people with the networks and knowledge they need to help solve the big challenges of the future.

We are aware of our responsibilities for a sustainable world.

We know sustainability is increasingly important to our attendees and exhibitors, as well as to our market as a whole. Running Growtech gives us lots of opportunities to improve our impacts socially, environmentally and economically in our host city. We want to make our event more responsible and play a role in helping our markets improve its own sustainability through connecting people with the networks and knowledge they want to help solve the big challenges in our sector.

Our 3 Aims

Help our markets through inspiring sustainable development

  • Using our content to support the sustainability of the market the event serves
  • Inspiring our suppliers, exhibitors and other stakeholders to deliver a sustainable event
  • Developing market relevant partnerships
  • Growtech organizes and hosts ATSO Growtech Innovation Awards to encourage innovative professionals and companies that carry out R&D activities.
  • Growtech carries out year-round projects with important associations of the agricultural sector and attaches importance to the cooperation of associations, universities and institutions for the solutions of the problems of the sector.

Run the event in an increasingly environmentally responsible manner

  • Reducing our event’s carbon emissions
  • Creating less waste
  • Considering sustainability credentials of the items sourced for the event
  • Reduced the quantity of print across marketing collateral
  • Running an environmentally resposible event: Growtech is taking measures to become more environmentally conscious every year, by reducing its carbon footprint and implementing more sustainable ways of exhibiting, such as using LED lights, printing less, recycling the badges and the carpet.
  • 1560 sqm shell scheme booths used reusable floorings instead of carpets. This reduced the amount of carpet usage.
  • Growtech uses digital badges for its exhibitors and does not print badges and does not use lanyard.
  • Better Stands - our initiative to eliminate disposable stands from the events industry

Run the event in a socially responsible manner

  • Doing business safely and ethically
  • Considering wellbeing and accessibility
  • Creating a positive impact on our host cities
  • Measuring our impacts
  • Growtech supports the students of theFaculty of Agriculture by welcoming them to the event, thus enabling themto get to know the agricultural sector and the companies within, and to learn about internship and job opportunities available at the Growtech @Campus event.
  • Introduced a Recharge Area  for our exhibitors and visitors. In order to be able to rest and take a break during the Growtech.

Better Stands - The sustainable choice

At Growtech we are committed to delivering a sustainable event for both exhibitors and attendees.

Disposable, single-use stands account for around 80% of the total waste from our event, which is why we are launching the Better Stands programme.

Better Stands is about moving away from the use of disposable stands to not only vastly reduce waste, but also improve the ease, quality, safety and sustainability of the exhibitor experience at our events.

We believe that sustainable, reusable stand options offer a better way forward for the events industry. As an exhibitor you can work with your Exhibitor Appointed Contractor to design a stand that fits this criteria.

If you're unsure of where to start? Consult our Better Stands procurement guide for help when choosing a reusable stand.

Our Efforts Recognised: Growtech is Powered by Renewable Electricity

As a part of our continued commitment to the sustainability of our event, 100% of the electricity used within the venue is generated from a renewable origin. This results in our electricity use being carbon neutral, minimising the creation of CO2, and therefore significantly reducing our carbon impact.

How can you be more sustainable?

We are working with exhibitors, event partners and attendees to make Growtech 2023 a more sustainable event. As part of this plan, we have developed suggestions and tips for building a sustainable energy event.
