35 agricultural journalists from 21 countries attended the “European and Balkan Countries Agricultural Journalists Forum” hosted by 19th International Greenhouse, Agricultural Technology and Livestock Equipment Fair in cooperation with the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) and the Agricultural Writers and Journalists Association (TAGYAD) and visited Expo 2016, the one and only expo in Turkey. Mr. Mustafa Ozen, Antalya’s Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry said: “Our target is to make Antalya Expo 2016 a means of advertisement to integrate Antalya and our country with the world”.
Growtech, 19th International Greenhouse, Agricultural Technology and Livestock Equipment Fair to be organized in Antalya between November 27 and 30, 2019 welcomed 35 agricultural journalists from 21 countries at the “European and Balkan Countries Agricultural Journalists Forum” held in cooperation with the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ9 and the Agricultural Writers and Journalists Association (TAGYAD) between November 4 and 8, 2019 in Antalya. International press members had the chance to visit the one and only expo in Turkey, Antalya Expo 2016 while catching up with important panels in the industry during this exclusive event. Mr. Sozen briefed about the activities and objectives of Antalya’s Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and introduced the ’Greening Children’ Project, which aims at popularizing agriculture to children in practice and is executed under the chairmanship of Mr. Munir Karaloglu, Antalya Governor and in cooperation with Antalya’s Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Western Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute and Antalya’s Provincial Directorate of National Education.
The Program also presented Projebank07, a mobile internet application developed by Antalya’s Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. Mr. Barbaros Alcin, the software developer of the program said: "Projebank07 application developed by our Directorate, both to inform farmers and for reference to our technical staff, in line with the Provincial Director Mr. Mustafa Ozen’s motto “because we care”, can be downloaded on GooglePlay and offers not only training presentations but also project files of Provincial Directorate that have been proved to be successful in agricultural industry. We hope the projects will not be limited to solely introducing the agricultural vision of Antalya and Turkey but will also be the first step towards generalizing our insight “we all share, we all win”. Therefore, all stakeholders willing to convey their project ideas or announce applied projects will use this application to attain their goals.”.
Our target is to make Antalya Expo 2016 a means of advertisement
Mr. Ozen, Antalya’s Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, answered journalists’ questions during Antalya Expo 2016, hosted by him and his team and underlined that their target was to integrate Antalya and Turkey with the world through Antalya Expo 2016, in order to make it a means of advertisement.
After taking a walk from botanic exhibition area to Chinese garden through unusually designed places, journalists found the opportunity for a panoramic Antalya views on the terrace of Expo Tower, a landmark of 114 meters high in the city. Journalists paid tribute to Mr. Sozen after getting informed about Expo Tower, which was selected the World’s Best Cultural Project, in Global Best Project Awards 2017 by Engineering News-Record in 2017.
Mr. Engin Er, Growtech Fair Director: “We have hosted this momentous event attended by agricultural journalists from all around the world in Antalya on the eve of Growtech.”
Underlining the export-focused nature of Growtech, Mr. Engin Er, Growtech Fair Director mentioned that they were getting prepared to welcome more than 850 exhibitors from around 30 countries with 90k+ visitors from more than 130 countries this year and explained the importance of that exclusive program organized prior to the fair with these words: “This year, like every other year, we will reunite international agricultural experts at Growtech. The synergy created by mutual discussions at Growtech fair morph into long-term commercial relations. Therefore, it has now become a much more important progress to bring international agricultural journalists together in Antalya between November 4 and 8 for increased efficiency at fair.
