Kayseri Sugar Mill Launches Prototype for “Agricultural Robot”

Kayseri Sugar Mill has launched the prototype for its “agricultural robot” which was designed by an engineering company with funding from TÜBİTAK-TEYDEB 1501 project.

The prototype was revealed for the first time during the 4th Field Days organized by Kayseri Sugar Mill, according to a statement issued by the facility management.

The robot offers a plethora of functionalities, including estimation of crop yield, early detection of diseases, use of pesticides and monitoring of temperature and humidity. The design process is still underway.

The robot can recharge itself with power batteries and run uninterruptedly for 24 hours. It can analyze data using GPS information and artificial intelligence and use analytics to send real-time information to farmers via smartphones or tablet computers.

The project is a joint effort between Kayseri Sugar Mill’s R&D Department and ADF Engineering company and will be finalized by the end of 2022.
